Provenance, the global leader in sustainability marketing technology, has launched its partnership with Douglas, the European e-commerce platform for beauty and health.
The news follows Provenance’s win at 2021’s Beauty Futures pitch event, and marks Provenance’s first partnership with a mainland European retailer.
The first wave of participating brands includes Douglas’ own one.two.free!, Augustinus Bader, By Terry, Dr Barbara Sturm, Evolve Organic Beauty, Glow Recipe, U Beauty and Emma Hardie.
Isabel Hendrichs, Chief Assortment & Purchasing Officer, DOUGLAS, said:
“I'm excited to be launching this partnership between DOUGLAS and Provenance. Trust is a key value for DOUGLAS and together with our brand partners we aim to raise transparency and to generate commercial value from their sustainability efforts for our joint customers. With Provenance, brands can do just this, and better understand their shoppers' values in the process."
On winning the Green Retail award at Douglas’ Beauty Futures event, Jessi Baker, Founder & CEO, Provenance, said:
"Throughout the application process, it became clear that Provenance and DOUGLAS had a shared vision— to help shoppers make purchases that positively impact the planet centered around fact-checked sustainability information.
A personal highlight was the in-person Beauty Futures final in Düsseldorf. It was inspiring to meet so many sustainability pioneers in beauty. I couldn’t wait to tell the Provenance team that we’d won the Green Retail award. With DOUGLAS’s endorsement, we’ll be able to accelerate our mission to ensure that every beauty product comes with shopper-friendly fact-checked sustainability information."
