The certification can apply to the product or the packaging
For foods, drinks and pharmaceuticals, it refers to the packaging only
For non-food and drinks (personal care products, cleaning fluids, cutlery, household goods) - the packaging and the contents must be plastic free
The product and/or packaging must be manufactured from compostable materials, or other materials, such as glass, wood or metal
Compostable bioplastics are not considered plastic
The certification is valid one year and audited remotely
